Em maio de 1917, três crianças de uma aldeia portuguesa afirmaram ter visto uma mulher vestida de branco sobre uma azinheira. Em treze de outubro, setenta mil testemunhas relataram ver o sol dançar no céu. In May 1917, three children from a Portuguese village claimed to have seen a woman dressed in white standing above a holm oak tree. On October 13th, seventy thousand witnesses reported seeing the sun dance in the sky.
FÁTIMA não é um documentário, nem um sermão. É uma narrativa visual em massinha — inteiramente sem diálogos — que convida o espectador a ver com os olhos de três crianças que acreditaram quando poucos acreditavam. FÁTIMA is not a documentary, nor a sermon. It is a visual narrative in clay — entirely without dialogue — that invites the viewer to see through the eyes of three children who believed when few others did.

Um amanhecer tranquilo na Cova da Iria. Lúcia, Francisco e Jacinta cuidam do rebanho sem saber que aquele lugar seria para sempre sagrado. O mundo ainda não sabe o que está prestes a acontecer naquela planície portuguesa. A quiet dawn at the Cova da Iria. Lúcia, Francisco and Jacinta tend their flock, unaware that this place would forever become sacred ground. The world does not yet know what is about to happen on that Portuguese plain.

O terço nas mãos, os olhos fechados, os joelhos na terra. As três crianças rezam lado a lado, no mesmo plano, à mesma distância da câmera. A mensagem de Fátima nasce neste gesto simples e eterno de oração. Rosary in hand, eyes closed, knees on the earth. The three children pray side by side, in the same plane, at the same distance from the camera. The message of Fátima is born in this simple and eternal gesture of prayer.

Os pastorinhos rezam de perfil enquanto, atrás deles, aldeões portugueses se ajoelham. A devoção passa de três crianças para um povo inteiro. A partir da segunda aparição, cada vez mais fiéis acompanhavam as crianças à Cova. The shepherd children pray in profile while, behind them, Portuguese villagers kneel. Devotion passes from three children to an entire people. From the second apparition onwards, more and more faithful accompanied the children to the Cova.

O administrador local conduz as crianças pelo vilarejo — exagerado e ligeiramente cômico, nunca ameaçador. As crianças permanecem serenas. Nem o poder temporal abala a certeza que carregam dentro de si. The local administrator escorts the children through the village — pompous and slightly comedic, never threatening. The children remain serene. Not even temporal power can shake the certainty they carry within themselves.

Nossa Senhora aparece novamente na Cova da Iria. No plano aberto, três profundidades distintas: os pastorinhos no primeiro plano, a azinheira ao centro, a aparição ao fundo. Treze de outubro de 1917. A multidão chegou sob a chuva com a lama nos pés e a dúvida nos rostos. As crianças permanecem calmas no centro da tempestade — o único ponto fixo num mundo agitado pela ansiedade coletiva. October 13th, 1917. The crowd arrived in the rain with mud on their feet and doubt on their faces. The children remain calm in the eye of the storm — the only fixed point in a world stirred by collective anxiety.

O sol dança no céu. Setenta mil rostos se levantam. A terra reflete a luz. Os pastorinhos permanecem serenos em primeiro plano — o contraste emocional que define a cena e encerra a jornada espiritual do curta. The sun dances in the sky. Seventy thousand faces lift upward. The earth reflects the light. The shepherd children remain serene in the foreground — the emotional contrast that defines the scene and closes the short film's spiritual journey.
